We get this one a lot, usually from someone in the middle of a move who's exhausted and just wants to know which service to book. Short answer: it depends on which end of the move you're standing on. Longer answer, below.
Move-out cleaning is about the place you're leaving. The goal is leaving it spotless for whoever's next — a landlord doing a walkthrough, a buyer at closing, or just your own conscience on the way out the door. Every trace of your time there gets cleaned away: inside appliances, baseboards, closets, the works. If there's a security deposit riding on it or a buyer walking through before closing, this is the one you want.
Move-in cleaning is about the place you're heading to.
Even a home that looks clean when you tour it usually isn't clean the way you'd want before your furniture and boxes show up — the previous owners or tenants had their own standards, and those aren't necessarily yours. We go deeper than a surface wipe-down: inside cabinets and drawers, behind appliances, bathrooms scrubbed top to bottom, before a single box gets carried in.
If you're doing both sides of the move — which is common — you don't have to pick one.
A lot of clients book a move-out clean at the old place and a move-in clean at the new one, timed around the same week. We're happy to coordinate both so neither one falls through the cracks while you're dealing with everything else moving involves.
Timing is usually the real question, not which service.
Closings move, movers reschedule, and leases don't always line up neatly. We regularly work around tight turnaround windows to fit actual moving and closing schedules rather than making you fit ours.
